Teacher Terms of Use
Last updated: June 29, 2026
1. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to anyone who registers as a teacher on WayToFrench ("the Platform"). By submitting a teacher application and checking the acceptance box, you agree to these terms in full.
2. Your teacher account
- You must provide accurate information when registering. False or misleading information (fake credentials, fake name) will result in immediate suspension.
- You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Do not share your login.
- One account per teacher. Duplicate accounts are not permitted.
- Your account may be suspended or removed at any time if you breach these terms.
3. Your brand and WayToFrench's brand
WayToFrench is a platform — like how a teacher might use Google Classroom or Notion without those being their brand. You own your teaching identity. Here is how branding works:
Your own brand
- You may run your classes, sessions, and student roster entirely under your own name or school name. WayToFrench does not claim ownership over your teaching brand, student relationships, or course materials.
- If you have an existing school or institute name, you can present yourself to students as that school — WayToFrench is simply the tool you use to manage it.
- You retain ownership of your teaching content and materials. We do not claim intellectual property rights over files or resources you upload.
Using the WayToFrench name (optional)
- All plans: You may truthfully state that you teach on the WayToFrench platform (e.g. "My classes run on WayToFrench").
- Pro and Institute plans: You may display the WayToFrench badge on your public profile as a trust signal, if you choose to.
- What you may never do regardless of plan: Claim to be a WayToFrench employee or official representative, imply WayToFrench endorses your external services or pricing, or alter the WayToFrench logo.
- WayToFrench branding is optional and can be turned off entirely — your profile works just as well without it.
Custom branding on the platform
- Institute plan teachers can contact us to display their own school name and logo inside their WayToFrench dashboard and profile.
- Contact [email protected] to discuss custom branding options.
4. Your conduct as a teacher
- You must treat students with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or abuse of any kind will result in immediate removal.
- You may not use the platform's mass email tool for spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or content unrelated to your French teaching.
- Files you upload must be your own work or material you have the right to distribute. Do not upload copyrighted exam papers, third-party content, or anything illegal.
- You may not solicit students to pay you outside the platform in a way that misrepresents your relationship with WayToFrench.
- You may not use student data (emails, names, grades) you access through the platform for any purpose other than teaching those students.
5. Payments and subscriptions
- Teacher subscriptions are billed monthly via PayPal after a 60-day free trial.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are not provided for partial months. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact [email protected].
- Prices may change with 30 days' notice by email. Continued use after the notice period means you accept the new price.
6. Student relationships
WayToFrench provides the platform only. The teaching relationship is between you and your students. WayToFrench is not responsible for:
- The quality or accuracy of your teaching
- Any disputes between you and a student about session quality, refunds, or exam results
- Student outcomes, exam scores, or immigration results
- Payments made directly between you and students outside the platform
7. Platform availability
WayToFrench is provided "as is". We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime, data loss, or technical issues. Always keep your own records of student progress where needed.
8. Privacy and data
Student data you access through the platform (names, emails, grades) is stored on WayToFrench's servers and governed by our Privacy Policy. You must not export, copy, or use this data outside the platform. You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from students you add manually.
9. Termination
- You may close your account at any time by contacting [email protected].
- We may suspend or close your account at any time for breach of these terms, non-payment, or conduct that harms students or the platform.
- On termination, your public profile and branding rights are removed immediately. Student records may be retained as required.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. We will email you at least 14 days before significant changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date means you accept the updated terms.
