Frequently asked questions
Do I need French for Canadian PR?
Yes — and it dramatically boosts your CRS score. CLB 9 in French (TEF/TCF) can add up to 50 points to your Express Entry profile. Many applicants use French to compensate for lower English scores or work experience gaps.
TCF Canada vs TEF Canada — which should I take?
Both are accepted by IRCC. TCF Canada is more widely available in India through Alliance Française centres. TEF Canada is preferred if you're applying to Quebec. The preparation content is virtually identical — our parcours prepares you for both.
What CLB level do I need?
For Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), the minimum is CLB 7 (B2 level). To maximise CRS points, target CLB 9–10 (C1). Our structured A1–C2 path is designed to take you from zero to exam-ready.
What is DELF and DALF — are they useful for Canada?
DELF and DALF are internationally recognised diplomas that never expire. DELF B2 or DALF C1 can be used for some Canadian provincial programmes and are highly valued for French work visas and university admissions in France. Unlike TCF/TEF, there is no re-test requirement — you keep the diploma permanently.
How long does it take to reach CLB 7 from scratch?
Most dedicated learners reach B2 (CLB 7) in 8–14 months studying 45–60 minutes per day. Indian students with prior exposure to another Romance language or strong English grammar tend to progress faster. Our parcours shows your estimated level after every few lessons.
How does WayToFrench compare to Alliance Française classes?
Alliance Française offers in-person group classes — great for speaking practice. WayToFrench is self-paced and exam-focused, available 24/7 at a fraction of the cost. Most serious candidates use both: our structured preparation + Alliance Française for in-person speaking exposure.
Is the price shown in INR what I'll be charged?
The INR prices are display estimates (1 USD ≈ ₹83). Your card is charged in USD via PayPal, which accepts Indian cards at checkout.
